How to Install Air Source Heat Pump

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the ambient air around a property and convert it into hot water, which can be used for heating or through the tap. They operate efficiently down to minus 25 degrees Celsius and are the most suitable renewable heating option for terraced houses, flats, and properties without land.

They are more cost-effective to install than other types of heat pumps, but they are not as efficient as ground source heat pumps. They optimally provide hot water at temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius, which may not work well in homes that lose heat easily.

If your home is energy-efficient (rated C or above in an EPC), then installing an air source heat pump can save you money on your bills and eliminate direct emissions from burning gas or oil.

To install, get three quotes from local installers who are MSC registered.
