Better Century is a network of ordinary people, businesses and charities who are providing sustainable solutions and inspiration. In collaboration we are improving tomorrow together. Today we are happy to announce an exciting new partnership with The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (HIWWT) is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK. With the invaluable support of volunteers and members they manage over 50 nature reserves. They also work with other organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live.
HIWWT’s Director of Advocacy and Engagement, Hannah Terry, said: “This partnership will offer our supporters a brilliant opportunity to share thoughts, advice and ideas with fellow ‘Team Wilder’ members. By taking action in our own lives and communities, learning from each other and working together we can start to tip the balance in favour of nature’s recovery. We’re excited about engaging in this amazing new digital ecosystem of changemakers.”
Better Century Founder and Director Tom Beckett said: “We are immensely happy to be working with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. They are pioneering community engagement to tackle the ecological crisis and we want to make this a massive success. This partnership is the first of many as Better Century grows its network. We are tackling critical issues for ordinary people who want to live sustainably by ensuring they are getting easy to access information as well as ready opportunities to make a difference. By bringing together the communities of hundreds of organisations who are already providing parts of the solution we can create an unparalleled network of changemakers that can tackle the climate and ecological crisis.
As a community-driven organisation, recommendations for potential partners are made by members, if approved by the community, organisations are invited to partner with Better Century. Companies and organisations working in the broad sustainability field are also encouraged to join this collective effort and can learn more on our website.
